Répce Riverbank Botanical Path
Our historical ancestors often chose to settle in areas with rich natural treasures, and it might have been the case in Bük as well, as it is mentioned as a street-having village about three kilometers roughly along the Répce in early writings. The alluvial soils on the riverbank were ideal for raising livestock and growing cereals. The flora of the region is rich in valuable and rare species, and—according to some studies—the Répce and the Ablánc stream valley are home to 111 different bird species.
The Répce Riverbank Botanical Path at the beginning of Széchenyi street is just a one-minute walk from Park Hotel, and it provides information about the region’s flora and fauna in an interactive and playful way. The winding trail in the thematic park covering several hundreds of square meters symbolizes the meandering Répce, and the green area is covered with plants typical of the region. The Répce Riverbank Botanical Path—one of the most beautiful attractions of the town—is open all year around and simply considered as one of Hungary’s TOP 10 nature trails by nature enthusiasts.
